FREQUENT QUESTIONS

WHEN DO I NEED TO GO TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST?

Whenever there is some factor in your life that causes you discomfort. These might be:

  • Personal difficulty regarding the thoughts or emotions experienced.

  • Painful situation such as illness, grief, trauma, or separation.

  • Relational difficulties at work, in the family, in the couple ...

  • Need for a change due to dissatisfaction with current life

  • Wanting to develop personally: self-awareness, self-esteem and self-care.

WHY IS IT BENEFICIAL TO GO TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST?

The therapy process helps you:

  • Be aware of what is happening to you and put words to it.

  • Learn to deal with what causes you discomfort.

  • Improve your social skills.

  • Know tools to resolve conflicts.

  • Reduce the amount of Psychopharmaceuticals you consume.

  • Feel better and increase your Quality of Life.

  • Know yourself to a greater extent and be more comfortable with yourself.

HOW LONG DOES THE THERAPY PROCESS USUALLY LAST?

The duration time depends on many factors and is never predictable for sure. Once we begin the therapy process, an approximate time frame can be estimated based on the agreed objectives. But as I always tell my clients, it depends on their commitment to therapy, their motivation when carrying out the proposed tasks, and the priority they give to the therapeutic process.

In my opinion, the development of therapy is guided between client and psychologist.

WHAT TYPE OF PROFESSIONAL SECRET MUST THE PSYCHOLOGIST FOLLOW?

Psychologists are required by law and by our Code of Ethics, to maintain professional secrecy and, therefore, to offer a total and absolute guarantee of confidentiality, as well as security in the handling of information.

Likewise, before starting a therapy process, we will sign an informed consent.
